A Few More Relaycasting Shows - Picture Evidence (Of Course)

Max Kleene, Chaos Noyes and I did some relaycasting at Prankster Island the other day. Some folks took snapshots of the event which I'll share with you here.

Relaycasting (What Is This Crap?) Crap seemed to enjoy the show along with the mind blowing realization that Pranksters has moved from Basilisk to their very own sim island.

Here are some that Feline Slade posted to Flickr:

Prankster Isle 5-9-2008 on Flickr - Photo Sharing! Feline, and Nancy for that matter, marveled over the fact that there were about 80 people present for the show at peak.

WHY THE BUMP BOMBS ARE NOW CALLED SIBLING RIVALRY BUMPS ANSWERED HERE: http://www.lovelymachine.com/Dolmere/2008/04/1st_sibling_rivalry_bump.html

**THE CURRENT PATTERN - HOW WE CHOOSE THE ARTIST AND SONG (SUBJECT TO CHANGE AS THE SIBLING RIVALRY BUMP MATURES)**

We've looped through our artist list twice now adding new members as they arrive.

From each artist we choose the song that is closest to 100 points without going over and try to get it as many votes from as many unique voters as possible. For artists with songs all over 100 points we'll now choose the song with THE LEAST bumps and show it some love.

Our efforts are:
Helping artists level up
Keeping us engaged and active as a group
Systematic and fair
Our in-world group is now at 135 group members and growing. It's nice to have you along for the ride :)

Note: New artists will remain on the "todo" list until they join our in-world group. I am not putting them into rotation until they join. I realize that there is a limit to the number of groups that we can join and that is a big pain for all. However, I've had too many artists contact me to ask to get into rotation AFTER they've already been bumped by the group.

Stability Evident

SL crashed on me a little while ago and will not let me log back in. I was hoping to stop by the relaycasting / "piggyback streaming" party that Wishing Lane and Chaos Noyes were throwing but it looks like that is not going to happen. I guess I'll, you know, go outside or something.

Don't you just love getting that login window with all the pretty messages from the blog telling you what's been broken most recently?

39th Sibling Rivalry Bump

Sarah Fouquet's Dance of the Angels went from 35 / 21 to 76 / 44 while sibling Ben Ashman's Good Friday went from 20 /19 to 41 /34.

Church Sign

Recently I was driving around and took note of a sign on a church. You know the type - those block letter marquees that get changed to include some scripture snippet or smarmy comment.

The sign read: "The bible is bread for every day, not cake for special occasions."

I could not help but immediately think: "Proud to be carb free."

Relaycasting Revisited

Max and I played an impromptu relaycast show at the Coconut Palms last Saturday. Max played about 3 songs solo, then we played about 6 or 7 together, and he closed the set with a few more solo.

Emme Eales took a few snapshots of the show and was kind enough to share them with us:

1Max+DolCoconutPalms-Emme_Eales.jpg

One might note that I am wearing my Keiko undies having recently returned from a typically kick-ass show of hers. She played Tenacious D's tribute all the way through. She teases people with a little riff from the song all the time. This was a first for me hearing her actually perform the full thing. FUN!

2Max+DolCoconutPalms-Emme_Eales.jpg

On sunday Mimi, Max and I played a triple relaycast show at the Bellagio club. It was a full hour of internet audio stream relay fun!

Maximillion Kleene in Canada was playing guitar, singing, keeping time and managing the arrangements (busy man!) and sending his audio stream to Mimi. Mimi is in Germany where she picks up Max's stream, blends her vocals, rhythm guitar and tambourine into the mix and then streams it back out to me. I'm in the US where I tune in Mimi's combined stream, add my bass and occasional gutteral utterances on top and send that final stream out to the great world of Secon Liff (no tm).

After the show some folks sent me snapshots of the performance to share with you:

35th Sibling Rivalry Bump

Feline Slade stood in for me and did the last two days of sibling rivalry bumps as practice. She'll be covering me the last two weeks of this month while I'm on vacation and away from electronics.

Yesterday Jax Streeter's "Superstar Avatar" went from 38 / 25 to 109 / 45 while sibling song "Digital Pop" by Disasteradio went from 38 / 22 to 68 / 38.

Today we revisit soul sister JueL! Her song Scratch is at 385 / 98 and revive worthy. To simply bump the song you'll need to click the "1000 points" button and in the popup window click the word "here" in this sentence: "Or if you'd like to bump this song instead, click here."

Today's sibling bump comes from Freestar Tammas. Joy Whitlock's Day Of The Lord is currently at 61 / 46.

Speaking of Cyl - The Second Life Musician Showcase @ Massively. A second round of SL performers playing a RL show at San Francisco's Rock-It-Room. Cool. Hope you try to make the show, it's sure to be enjoyable.

Keiko, Cyl and Melanie performed at the Rock-It-Room when Cyl visited San Fran. I thought that whole thing was pretty cool - Keiko, Cyl and a bunch of SL musicians were going to perform at a RL show in Las Vegas which fell apart. Rather than mope about it Cyl flew to San Francisco and a group of folks did a series of RL shows streaming in-world out there. Neat.

32nd Sibling Rivalry Bump

Lou Mannock's Story Of A Sandcastle Life went from 36 / 26 to 61 / 34 while The Maledictions's Red House went from 23 / 19 to 36 / 29. Not a very good showing, eh?

Today we revisit Mel Cheeky with her collaboration account. "'til I die" is at 92 /23.

Our sib song is from supergrover. mad staring eyes's song Grounded is at 240 / 88.

Vacation Notice: I'm going on vacation for the last two weeks of May. Feline Slade will be stepping up to post the sibling rivalry bumps in my absence. Look for notices from Feline in the future as well as info on my t61 comment wall,

Mad props to Rose! Rose Petal Creations: Why I am not supporting the Wheelies charity. Rose is such a sweetie. She did such a wonderful job here of speaking her mind in a clear, eloquent and kind manner. *HUGS* to you, Mz. Farina.

“…Who me? Yes you! Couldn’t be! Then who?…” INTRODUCING AVATAR RENDERING COST - Official Second Life Blog. All about the new Avatar Rendering Cost, or ARC. I do have to wonder about the prim skeleton avatar of mine. I've always felt it was likely a resource hog, though a beautiful one, and that would be why I created my skelly skin avatar I iusually wear nowadays. Maybe someone with an ARC capable viewer will tell me how many thousands of ARC it costs one day.

Overnight Lyndon's Midnight went from 178 / 48 to 220 / 54 while Rockfour's Corridors went from 93 / 68 to 149 / 79.

Today we revisit Capo Freenote. His tune Roses Everywhere is currently at 86 bumps from 43 ppl.

Our sibling song is from amosh. Harrison's song Star is currently at 51 bumps from 33 accts.

Remember that the more UNIQUE people bumping a song holds more weight than the total number of bumps. Also, if you like a song why not "+add" it to your playlists? This makes you a "listener" of that artist and counts as positive metadata. If you would like help with creating or managing playlists ping me or IM the group for assistance.

Our in-world group is now at 129 group members and growing. It's nice to have you along for the ride :)

Note: New artists who have not received a bump yet will remain on the list to be visited soon. I am not putting them into rotation until they join the in-world group, however. I realize that there is a limit to the number of groups that we can join and that is a big pain for all. However, I've had too many artists contact me to ask to get into rotation AFTER they've already received one or two group visits - they just were not present to notice.

Laughing Out Loud, Again

OK - this IM conversation had me rolling:

[18:48] Matthew Schneidermann: I watch your girl Mimi today doing a concert
[18:48] Dolmere Talamasca: haha :)
[18:48] Dolmere Talamasca: "my girl mimi" I'm telling her you said that
[18:48] Matthew Schneidermann: by all means :D
[18:48] Dolmere Talamasca: was that your first SL live show? what did you think of my girl?
[18:48] Matthew Schneidermann: we chatted a bit. She's cool people
[18:49] Dolmere Talamasca: supercool.
[18:49] Matthew Schneidermann: "your girl" has a very nice voice. I dig her
[18:49] Matthew Schneidermann: You're not french too, are you?
[18:50] Dolmere Talamasca: Ah, if only I lived closer to my mimi
[18:50] Matthew Schneidermann: heh
[18:50] Dolmere Talamasca: no, I'm in the northeast US - further north than you
[18:51] Matthew Schneidermann: You know how noth I am?
[18:51] Matthew Schneidermann: oooo, stalker material :D
[18:52] Dolmere Talamasca: you posted your freaking bio in your profile like a good little myspace kiddie
[18:53] Dolmere Talamasca: Hi, I'm a male, I love long walks on short piers, I prefer to be the one that does the dumping, and I only drink when I'm feeling like a drink.
[18:53] Dolmere Talamasca: I'm looking for a girl that likes to ride horses while I'm watching sports and talks to herself so I can concentrate on other shit than hearing her inane babble.
[18:54] Matthew Schneidermann: lol. now I know all abut you and Mimi
[18:54] Dolmere Talamasca: you may tell her that
[18:55] Dolmere Talamasca: may I post this conversation snippet on my blog? I'm laughing out loud over here.
[18:55] Matthew Schneidermann: lol go right ahaead
[18:55] Matthew Schneidermann: i mean, a head
[18:56] Matthew Schneidermann: like my floating head

Quotes Out Of Context

JueL left this comment on my thesixtyone.com profile the other day
"Great Set the other night, something about you on that bass, some of that stuff DAMN GOOD gets to me in that Sweet creepy way....I just love ya Mon :)"

I am terribly amused by "in that Sweet creepy way." I wonder if I should change this blog's tagline to that? :)

Another one that had me rolling was a comment that showed up in open chat during a MaxMiDol relaycast show. I cannot remember which of Max's rabid fans said it but the comment nearly made me lose my place in the song, and the subsequent songs as I giggled quietly to myself through the set. It went something like "I know I'm going to regret saying this but Dolmere ROCKS!"

Haha!
See ya in-world!

23rd Sibling Rivalry Bump

CC's song Regrets went from 189 / 41 to 280 / 57! Marc With a C's song San Diego Doorways went from 25 / 20 to 64 / 38.

Today we revisit Von Johin with his cover of How Blue Can You Get? It is currently at 71 bumps from 30 ppl.

Our sibling bump is a bit of an accidental cheat. Jenilia submitted this song BEFORE he created his SL account. As far as I know he's not playing live in SL yet so it's still legit, right? Matthew Snyder (SNYPod)'s song Generation YouTube is at 109 / 35.
