When Travis told me I could host Payment Podium on Sundays regularly I decided I should take a tip from Trivial Obsession. Carl has a litany of sponsors who donate product or cash to his game show to increase the prize pool. I contacted Sclitzie to see if he would be interested in offering a chance for a free avatar each show.
Lo and behold - he agreed. Schlitzie was therefore my very first in game sponsor. He has been with me for over 27 weeks now and he's given away 5 of his avatars for free so far. One of the winners, I think plum Hartnell, paid Schlitzie to customize one of his avatars for him.
Schlitzie has some similar taste in music as I do. He's aware of GWAR and a fan of Infectious Grooves.
I can't see Schlitzie's name and not think of GWAR's former manager "Sleazy P. Martini". I've accidentally said something like "Sleazy will give an avatar to the winner of this question" or some such. Now in-world Schlitzie is known to me as Sclitzie P. - my buddy.
I did not seek any additional sponsors for PP Sundays. Since the game is not my own creation it would be abusing the format to drop too many non-standard sponsors on the game. Folks who attend the Tuesday or Thursday events might be thrown off if they came to a Sunday show and found it full of sponsor prizes, etc. It would not be fair to the other hosts or to the game's integrity. However, the one "special sponsor" on Sundays is enough to differentiate my night, make it unique, and still be tactful I think.
