Grammar Podcast

Hi folks! I'm back from vacation. In catching up on my internet browsing today I came across a website I thought I would share with y'all.

I'm normally not much for listening to podcasts. However, I just found this new podcast that I had to subscribe to. "Grammar Girl's Quick & Dirty Tips for Better Writing" can be found at http://grammar.qdnow.com/. How cool is that? In fact there are a series of Quick & Dirty blogs/podcasts at QDNow.com including, oddly enough, one for Second Life called "The Traveling Avatar’s Quick and Dirty Tips for a Better Second Life".

I've not listened to any of these yet. I look forward to hearing the episodes on grammar. I'm reticent reluctant to listen to the SL podcasts at this point as the episodes thus far seem rather fluff, basic and silly.

As I've mentioned in the past I don't listen to podcasts all that much. I have been enjoying the Grammar Girl podcast a bit. I'm still catching up on them... [Read More]

LOL I read this blog post when it first came out but didn't notice the reference to my show at all! That's kind of bizzare being mentioned on a blog I read (i have your vote hippie teeshirt :)

You are 100% right on TA's quick and dirty tips being basic and silly (I'll debate ya on fluff :) It's designed to help newer players so you won't find indepth scripting or that sort of thing. It' would be tough to do those types of subjects anyhow, because the network requires an under 5 minute timelimit to be a QDNow show. As for silly, I have to admit that Alton Brown (Good Eats) is a personal hero of mine and I've tried to model my show after that kind of fun/educational style.

Anyhow, I'm letting the longer, more serious Second Life casters deal with that sort of thing, I'm just trying to help newer folks fit in, keep their clothes on in public and not send strangers IM's about their naughty bits!

Keep up the good blogging!

Will, thanks for reading my blog. I came across your podcast in the oddest almost happenstance way, I tell you. I believe that grammar girl was on digg.com and in investigating I found TA. As I said I'm not really one for podcasts so I have to admit that I still have not managed to listen to any of them :(
At some point I'll have more than a spare moment and will give them a try, I swear.
