Charles and Spaceman Were Great
Charles Coleman headlined at the Shelter in Swinside's Sky Stage this past Thursday. Opening for him was Spaceman Opus. The crowd was unusually small. I'm not sure what to blame that on actually. It may be the lack of an event listing considering I was unable to get past that funky 404 error on the events listing page. It may be that there were a lot of other live events going on, but I'm just not sure what else was being run in that timeslot. Anyway, regardless of the relatively low turn-out the evening was quite enjoyable.
Spaceman played a set of nice cover tunes. Just like last time his microphone volume when talking between songs was painfully low. Quite an odd details considering that when playing his mix was pretty good.
Charles started his set by playing covers of music by other Second Life musicians! He played "Mattie's Runaway Train" by Cylindrian Rutabaga to get started. Then he moved on to "Never Argue (With the Weather)" by Frogg Marlowe. It was a really fun set that started off with a great tone.
I was hosting the show while connected from a really poor hotel wireless connection. Unfortunately for me that meant several SL crashes and relaunches and some very odd behavior. When trying to jump on a dance ball I had several extended moments worthy of acid trips.
