Changes
If you haven't noticed I've not been able to post to my blog recently. Things IRL are even more hectic than usual lately and I've been unable to find spare cycles. When I do find spare cycles my computer has been freezing up when running Second Life making for a very frustrating experience. I may need to get it serviced or maybe just give it a break :)
This Thursday, the 10th, I have cancelled live music at the Shelter in Swinside. I won't be available to host again and I have no one booked so rather than rush things I'll skip the show.
Next Thursday, the 17th, we should have Jaycatt Nico and Frogg Marlowe at 6:30PM with Flaming Moe starting at 5:30. This will be a wonderful show for a few reasons. First it'll be Flaming Moe's first appearance with us. Second it'll be Jay and Frogg's triumphant return after a few months away. Finally it'll be a nice full circle - Jay and Frogg were the first ones to play our stage when I started booking live acts into the Shelter in Swinside (in fact Jaycatt was the first one to play at the Shelter in Isabel as well) - and thanks to the 17th Jay and Frogg will play the last Thursday show I will be handling.
I've come to the realization that I don't have time to do things right. I'm not able to properly promote and worry over each event the way I did in the past. This makes booking acts tougher, building audience size tougher and it makes the whole experience less exciting for all involved I think. We recently received a sponsor for live music, D'nel DaSilva from Xessories, she donated 2500L per week(!) to make the live events go off. I'm doing D'nel or everyone else a disservice by being unable to pull the event off more effectively.

I watch the ripples change their size
But never leave the stream
Of warm impermanence and
So the days float through my eyes
But still the days seem the same
And these children that you spit on
As they try to change their worlds
Are immune to your consultations
They're quite aware of what they're going through
Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes
(Turn and face the strain)
Ch-ch-Changes
Don't tell t hem to grow up and out of it
Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes
(Turn and face the strain)
Ch-ch-Changes
Where's your shame
You've left us up to our necks in it
Time may change me
But you can't trace time
Strange fascination, fascinating me
Changes are taking the pace I'm going through
Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes
(Turn and face the strain)
Ch-ch-Changes
Oh, look out you rock 'n rollers
Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes
(Turn and face the strain)
Ch-ch-Changes
Pretty soon you're gonna get a little older
Time may change me
But I can't trace time
I said that time may change me
But I can't trace time

Thanks for all you've done Dolmere, I'm grateful that you had me there a few times, as The Shelter has always been a special place to me. I understand the strain though, RL must be attended to on it's schedule. Hope I'll be able to make the Moe, Frogg & Jaycatt show.
'Till later bone-daddy.

We're all in your debt for providing such a nice entertainment venue in SL, Dol.
Thank you, and I hope the future will allow you to resume doing so!
XOXO to my favorite Esqueletto.
