Top Sites Traffic Weekly Checkup

Here are the latest numbers I have in tracking traffic to and from the top sites page.

    July 11 - July 22nd
  • Outgoing clicks: 12
  • Incoming clicks: 0
    July 22 - August 1st
  • Outgoing clicks: 12
  • Incoming clicks: 1
    August 1st - August 8th
  • Outgoing clicks: 9
  • Incoming clicks: 8

This week's numbers look better. Once again we're dealing with low numbers overall anyway. Surely the increase in incoming clicks is due to the fact that my site has been in the top 20 list for their "in" ratings this week instead of down around the 50-70 range. So perhaps Looker Lumet is right that it can increase incoming traffic - but is that only for sites that manage to list in the top 20 since anything beyond that is at least 2 clicks away?

An additional note: A while back I had commented on how Richard made a cute little button for the account holders to place on our pages. The cute little guy is the image in the lower right hand corner currently in my righthand blog sidebar. Clicking on that button would take you to the top site gateway page where you could choose to "vote for me". Voting simply increases the "in" count from this page. Choosing not to "vote" brings you to the page without counting as an "in" click from my blog here.

If any of you are interested in how to make cute buttons like that for your own blog templates you might want to visit one of these resources:
