Played Pontiac Respects and a Handful of Quicklies
I just finished playing an open mic set at Pontiac Garage over on Motorati Island.
"Pontiac has decided to pursue other advertising venues."
That means as of tomorrow there will be no more Pontiac Garage - as a live music venue or as a Second Life build.
You can read more about it at the official Motorati website: http://www.motoratilife.com/. Especially the entry Ladies & Gentlemen, Motorati Has Left The Grid.
It's a rather sad day, imho.
I'm glad I got a chance to play the stage and to say goodbye.
Recursive Escalator Sign on Flickr - Photo Sharing! I so want to hold my option key and cam around this sign to see if it's hiding something more menacing. How amazing is this if it's truly a sign erected to warn about the sign once erected?
GPS baby Jesus stolen again, found across the street - Engadget. The comments on this and the linked newspaper article are a bit much so I suggest skipping them. The title of the linked news article is a bit much as well though. Anyway, the core story is pretty amusing though.
YouTube - The Most Amazing Accident On Road Produced By Rain. All one can say when watching this video is WOW! That's one poorly managed drainage system.
One comment does a better job of describing the footage than the poster: "good old Calgary Alberta Canada, that was on Glenmore Trail and the camera was to monitor the flow of traffic because of the construction that was going on. Hail plugged the storm drain and caused a hail dam. when it broke free water cam from the surrounding communities which are up to 50 metres ( 160 feet) higher. it was all clean rain water"
The Death of High Fidelity : Rolling Stone. Yet another article pointing out that compressed compression compressing compression is making today's releases sound terrible compared to yesteryear's dynamic music.
While there I discovered that Kim deal's The Breeders has a new album due out in April of '08! WOOT! I'll be buying that for sure.
