Last Week's Show In "PURGATORY"!
Mallow Niven brought me back to perform at club Purgatory again last week. The lovely Feline Slade was on hand to take some screen grabs for us to enjoy.
Here I am doing the SL live music shuffle:

Dolmere Talamasca dwarfed by tip jar at Purgatory 3-20-2008 on Flickr - Photo Sharing! I like to do silly things at each show for no apparent rhyme or reason. This time through there were not enough prims to rez all the stage dressing I wanted so I rezzed my wooden rug, one dancing skeleton (that I forgot to animate), my microphone (KAKLICK MARTIN!! ROCK!) and my tip jar. The last thing out was my tip jar and things just didn't look - well - I wasn't pleased with the overall look. So I blew the tip jar up to monster proportions and felt much better about the stage I would be performing on.
*That's a good little tip bear! Who loves tip bear?*
Various friends and Basstastic Perversion group members joined us for the show. It's a nice intimate club and a great place to just throw an ad-hoc party.
Beth Odets at Purgatory 3-20-2008 on Flickr - Photo Sharing! Beth Odets attended and seemed to enjoy herself. I think she saw me play three shows in a row or something like that. At what point does one burn out on bass and need a month or two off? Three shows? Four?
Cylindrian Rutabaga at Purgatory 3-20-2008 on Flickr - Photo Sharing! Cylindrian Rutabaga came along looking like a true SL diva :) I played my cover of her original song "Mattie's Runaway Train." It'ssuch a beautiful song that I so completely ruin *sob*.
At this show I tried playing Snow Patrols' song Chasing Cars and singing it at the same time. I've still never hear the orginal song. I only know it from when Max, Mimi and I perform it. I just got this wild idea mid-set to give it a go - so I went for it. As expected it came out poorly. What the hell - to me SL live music IS about practice and about fun. I did both.
Rain Viera and Mallow Niven at Purgatory 3-20-2008 on Flickr - Photo Sharing! Rain and Mallow! Mallow keeps offering to allow me to play at Purgatory - I really am not sure why :) Hahaa. Once again the night was very much fun, thanks Mallow!
Paradise Tennant at Purgatory 3-20-2008 on Flickr - Photo Sharing! Paradise Tennent at the show. She's a good friend and a wonderful person. She requested "Never My Love" which I had not played in a while. I had played two shows that same day - the first being the Relay For Life event. For the second set I was trying not to repeat songs that I had played earlier if possible. Thanks for the request and for coming to my shows as your schedule allows, PT.
Dyz Warburton at Purgatory 3-20-2008 on Flickr - Photo Sharing! Dyz Warburton! Glad you could make it out, man. Dyz recently attended one of our MaxMiDol relaycast shows and really seemed to enjoy himself. He's be a long time supporter of the basstastic perversions. I believe for him it may have been a staggering dozen or more shows before burnout.
Dyz Warburton and 1Chelsea Dagger at Purgatory 3-20-2008 on Flickr - Photo Sharing! Dyz dancing with Chelsea! WOOT. Chelsea is a good friend as well. She requested that I learn a few songs that have now made their way onto my set list. I try to play at least one of them if she manages to stay up late enough for one of the shows. I really need to try to alternate the time of days I scheudle my shows for. Maybe I should try to do Satyrah Singh's open mic as it's Euro time friendly.
Feedback, suggestions, constructive criticism -let's boil it down to interaction - interaction is a valuable thing. It helps fight back the voices screaming "what the hell do you think you're doing wasting these people's time?"
Comments
Dolmere, you are always welcome to bring your unique sound to Purgatory...not to mention the fun and giggles everyone shares. And...you are not wasting anyone's time, nevah EVAH!!
