Different-yet-the-same continued - The State Of...
While I was on my wonderful vacation in Great Britain I got the wild idea to pick up a little notebook. I used it to jot down things that I found of interest. You know - turns of phrase, colloquialisms, verbal oddities. Things that made me go hmmmm really.
"Look at the state..."

"Look at the state of [this thing]" - What a mess!
A good for instance on this would be a mother inspecting a child's room. Isn't it the case that after a play date or some other form of childlike activity the kid's room tends to look like a tornado just touched down inside? Jimmy, look at the state of this room! If you don't straighten up by 6 you're going straight to bed with no dinner. If you don't eat your meat, how can you have any pudding? How can you have any pudding [trailing off] if you [as I make my way] don't eat [back to the looney bin] your meat? [see you later with another term - in the meantime I'm going to go talk to myself for a while and like watch me some PF for a few hours.]
