Sunday Night Live

Tonight I had the pleasure of sitting in on a taping of Paisley Beebe's podcast interview show "Tonight Live with Paisley Beebe" on SLCN.TV. There is a "live audience" present during the taping of this show. When you arrive an automated script delivers an audience etiquette notecard to you. It outlines the mechanics of the show a bit and more or less asks you to be respectful and not interrupt.

I believe that she has three guests each week for the half hour program. This week she had Circe Broom, Haroldthe Burrell and Cylindrian Rutabaga. The interviews are conducted using Skype. The guests chat with Paisley in the Skype program and Paisly streams that conversation into SL along with some audio bumpers and adverts mixed in. The audio stream and "live video" of the gathering is then captured and posted as a video enhanced podcast.

Mel Cheeky Interviews!

As Sweet as Fudge, Mel Cheeky - VTOR - Virtual TO Reality

"Weirdharold" over at vtoreality.com has posted an interview with Mel Cheeky. It's short and sweet, well formatted and a nice read.

From the comments at that article, due to a bit of shameless self promotion on Andy's part, I also found "Interview with SL musician Mel Cheeky" - a blog entry by Andy Piper (Note: the same interview was republished in SLateNight magazine. This one is formatted similar to my interviews - pretty much a copy/paste from a chat log with a bit of editing. It's longer and more involved than either vto's or mine. I love that Mel's answers are very consistent in all three interviews.

Oh, it also appears that Andy is one of the IBM folks we've been hearing about. Glad to see that some of the new corporate users are blending in and finding the gems in Second Life like Mel Cheeky rather than simply slaving away on their island estates (melodrama emphasis is all mine there).

Cylindrian Rutabaga will be playing at the Shelter in Exile this upcoming Thursday - the 21st of December at 5pm SLT. The following is a slightly edited interview with her in preparation for her return to the Shelter in Exile Sky Stage.

Dolmere: Welcome back to the Shelter in Exile Sky Stage, Cylindrian
Cylindrian Rutabaga: hi
Dolmere: Last time we left off with me asking about your children and the fact that you home school :)
Cylindrian Rutabaga: oh yes
Dolmere: Let's move back into the musical range for a bit
Dolmere: How did you discover live music in Second Life? What made you decide to start playing shows?
Cylindrian Rutabaga: Well... I had friends that I would play online open mic's with in another chat program, you may have heard of Mel Cheeky, Russell Eponym, and Neil Morrison?
Dolmere: Indeed
