Juke In Beta, Coming Along

The new version of the M2M jukebox is coming along nicely. I've added some nice new features I'm quite excited about. I'm now declaring it feature complete and any changes between today's beta release and the final release for this version will be bug fixes only.

I just wanted to post a special note to musicians: submit your songs! Contact me in-world via IM and I'll give you my gmail address. Send me your songs and I'll upload them into our database quickly. Let's make sure that you're represented in our growing (over 1200 songs!) database of music available on-demand wherever an M2M jukebox is rezzed.

While we're at it you may want to check out Bobby Fairweather's SECONDtunes.com website if you're not currently vending songs in-world.

Card Generator - Cool!

I found this really cool little index card generator over at Five Pounds Flax. The website was recommended to me by a fellow Mac user and Second Life user.

Generate your own here

I do hope to release a new version of the jukebox in the next couple of weeks. I have a rather sizable list of new features that have been added to the new jukebox as well as to the web page itself lately. If anyone is a M2M juke owner and would like to trade their current juke in for a beta version to help with testing please contact me in-world so I can hook you up.

Various Stuff - Google AdSense, Links, "Blog Roll" Update

Mera recently added Google AdSense to her blog. I swear that I did not add AdSense here in an attempt to mimik the purple goddess, but rather was investigating right at the time I noticed she added it anyway :) I'm sure no one will mind - it's a harmless text only advert on the side of the page after all. I also realize it's currently rather ugly - I hope to customize the border colors at some point to make it fit in with this default blog template a bit better. I added the AdSense to the main index page and the entries page, taking a moment to match the links between the two as well.

Building Shelter Update

First - I've finally posted some of the newly formatted Building Shelter entries to SLExchange. Thanks to Coal Nelson for helping me through the process of determining the best, most manageable, format for the entries. I've not yet attached pictures to the entries - I hope to get around to that eventually. I still have a few dozen or more of them to get through though.

Here are the four that have been posted as of today:
20060528
20060518

Productive

Wow, for the last few days I've found myself amazingly productive! Odd, that. The recipient of my motivation to create was the Melodies to Memories Jukebox. I added a bunch of songs to the web page and updated the functionality of the site quite a bit. I also coded a new feature into the juke itself which is in alpha/beta testing. I'm not sure when that bit will be approved and see the light of day.

I also thought of getting some of the months on months of Building Shelter entries I have formatted and ready to post to SLX out. Thought about that, thus the no-having-done-that yet.

Check out the jukebox web page if you want.

Thunder Serf

I met Thunder Serf for the first time Thursday night.

ct_thunder1.jpg

Thunder is calmotommy Lowell's new partner. She will be helping out with the Jukebox business it seems. She appears to have some website skills so she'll be uploading tunages and possibly modifying html/php pages as well.

Another Friday Night

On Fridays Jaycatt and Frogg tend to play a show. I caught their show again this week at "The Gathering" in Iris. Typically great performance, yet again :) Just love getting a chance to listen to them perform.

That reminds me I've not seen Melvin Took do a full set recently. I've seen him one and a half times and would like to catch his performances a bit more.

Tonight Coal Nelson, Jacek Antonelli and Celeste Conover joined me in Iris. Excellent company, I'm glad they decided to come along and enjoy the set with me.

On a completely different note I managed to get some work done on my jukebox project. I've been scripting a web page and in-world jukebox combination. The concept is calmtommy Lowell's. ct is handling sales along with Pam Ponzu (who has had some bad luck with accounts since joining SL and is on her third identity, unfortunately.) Speedy Dangle made the jukebox itself which is a very pretty build with textures in motion and a real nice feel to it. Nokia Latrell has been a beta tester and has had some great input. Nokia and Pam have also uploaded some songs to the web database as well - as of today we're at about 300 songs in the catalog!
