Bump Free Now

Well it's with sadness that I depart from thesixtyone.com. They really created a fun and addictive place. I no longer have an confidence in the admins to provide a safe and friendly environment for those fun activities.

Melanie's accounts have been removed and someday hopefully they'll smarten up and remove the list of names from their announcement forum entry.

For those you of you staying on t61 - HAVE FUN! Good luck and I honestly hope that the worst of the drama is behind that community.

End of t61 For Me

Folks - I cannot express how sorry I am that t61 has been so difficult to work with. I still feel like the person who brought his friends to a party only to watch them be taunted and mistreated.

I have decided to bail on t61 as of today. I am sorry if this decision seems rash to some of you. I did not make it lightly, I assure you.

80th Sibling Rivalry Bump

SRV4U's Since I met you went from 66 / 28 to 104 / 37 while Junkyard Rukus's 'Lectric Church went from 41 / 15 to 59 / 26

It's the 80th SRB! We'll change the name and have another huge party around the 100th (and thus start counting from 1 again! YAY) Suka Nishi has volunteered again to be the master of ceremonies and the one true organizer of this next event. We're looking to fill 6AM - 6PM SLT on July 13th. Artists interested in playing please contact Suka Nishi to get your time slot secured.

Next up is Toby Lancaster whose Divide By Zero is at 77 / 23

Sib song comes from Mimi - whiteout's cover of the followers at 30 / 16

HELP WANTED:
I'm looking to rename the Sibling Rivalry Bump with a name that sheds the antogonistic history. I think we've hopefully moved past that stage and the kids are now able to play the game without pulling on each other's hair. Any suggestions for a new name?
Suggestions so far:
1. friendly rivalry bump (not all that different, eh?)
2. what's an avatar among friends bump (I kinda like this one but it's a bit long?)
3. Spread the Love (Mallow's so sappy, so is Sally - 2 votes)
4. Bump Love
5. Love Bumps (3 votes)
6. Back Scratch Bump
7. Best of Both Worlds bumps (3 votes)

Also, there are now about 97 artists in rotation for our bump runs. At one bump a day that's a bump per artist once every 3 months or so. My latest thought goes like this: 2 SL artists, 1 Sib song per day. The group notice would contain a link to my blog entry with the links to the t61 songs. My t61 profile would have the three latest targets on the profile picks and a comment entry also simply pointing at my blog entry. I think this would save me time and effort while still remaining a fair way for everyone to get easy access to the links. I think I'll start this next week unless there are any objections - just IM me or leave a comment wall message on t61.

79th Sibling Rivalry Bump

Yesterday's SRB saw Spinning Mule's One Embrace go from 236 / 67 to 266 / 71 while sib Laurel Jackson's Are You went from 377 / 98 to 386 / 103

Today we revisit Da Bluez Preacher (SL: SRV4U Conacher) whose song Since I met you is at 66 / 28

Since my account is still locked out on t61 (I'm informed that my email address is no longer in the system) I have no access to my tunebox messages. That means day 2 of "Dolmere's own sibling picks": Junkyard Rukus's 'Lectric Church is at 41 / 15

76th Sibling Rivalry Bump

REVIVE BUMP NOTE: When a song says "1000 revive" it means that the song COULD be revived if the moon and stars are aligned. It is possible to BUMP the song instead though.
To bump - Click the Revive (1000) link, it will not charge you. In the popup confirmation window look for the text at the bottom "Or if you'd like to bump this song instead, click here." Click the word "here" and the "revive" button will change to "bump". Rinse and repeat as desired or until clean.

WHY THE BUMP BOMBS ARE NOW CALLED SIBLING RIVALRY BUMPS: http://www.lovelymachine.com/Dolmere/2008/04/1st_sibling_rivalry_bump.html

**THE CURRENT PATTERN - HOW WE CHOOSE THE ARTIST AND SONG (SUBJECT TO CHANGE AS THE SIBLING RIVALRY BUMP MATURES)**

We've looped through our artist list twice now adding new members as they arrive.

From each artist we choose the song that is closest to 100 points without going over and try to get it as many votes from as many unique voters as possible. For artists with songs all over 100 points we'll now choose the song with THE LEAST bumps and show it some love.

Our efforts are:
Helping artists level up
Keeping us engaged and active as a group
Systematic and fair
Our in-world group is now at 135 group members and growing. It's nice to have you along for the ride :)

Note: New artists will remain on the "todo" list until they join our in-world group. I am not putting them into rotation until they join. I realize that there is a limit to the number of groups that we can join and that is a big pain for all. However, I've had too many artists contact me to ask to get into rotation AFTER they've already been bumped by the group.

Our sib song comes from HiddenSanctuary - Dream Art Science's Gates of the Duat currently at 73 / 54

PARTY RECAP:

The party at the garden of not possible in real life delights went off wonderfully yesterday. There were bumps in the road and technical issues for sure - "hitches" were present. However, thanks to the grace and professionalism of those working on our behalf the day was a full day of pleasure for those attending.

"Sumar Morgan: Wasn't yesterday a blast? First you have to have the idea person, many thanks Dol. Then come the workers - magnificent job on the schedule go to Suka Nishi. Then Reginald Beck worked very hard making it easy for us to bump the musicians. Vint your help was super. And let's not forget to thank all the musicians that made the day such a success. For some of us, it was the first time for us to see some of them perform. Kudos musicians!!!" - reposted with permission from Sumar

Today Is The Big Party - t61

The big thesixtyone party in Second Life starts in about an hour! Yay.

Here is some news from Vint Falken who came up with the idea of pairing our t61 party with the Rezzable/NPIRL Garden celebration:

Ladies, Gentleman,

Ladies & Gentleman artists, I'm switching the main parcels over to the T61 stream for today's concert. We have some great artists lined up! If you want those live artists streamed on your parcel too (if you have a private one) IM me with 'yes, please' and the name of the sim your parcel is located on. Keep that NPIRL vibe alive! -Vint-

This goes out to the rest of the folks, feel free to come and listen!

If you did not explore the Garden of NPIRL Delights yet - or wish to return, today is the perfect day to do so. All day we'll have the greatest live muscians playing at the Garden Stage and music will be streamed over the 7 Garden sims. The SLURL: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Rezzable%20Design/230/87/22

I'm off on a two week vacation, don't feel sorry for me! Feline Slade will be filling in for the next 14 or 15 days to keep the bump bombing alive :)

REVIVE BUMP NOTE: When a song says "1000 revive" it means that the song COULD be revived if the moon and stars are aligned. It is possible to BUMP the song instead though.
To bump - Click the Revieve (1000) link, it will not charge you. In the popup confirmation window look for the text at the bottom "Or if you'd like to bump this song instead, click here." Click the word "here" and the "revive" button will change to "bump". Rinse and repeat as desired or until clean.

Soundcircel Flanagan's A Sonik Life went from 91 / 32 to 140 / 45 while siblings The Warlocks's House of Glass went from 66 / 35 to 100 / 49.

Our sib song comes from overcaffeinated. Joshua Morin Band's Blue Volvo is at 197 / 82.

Anyone have any suggestions on a new name for the Sibling Rivalry Bumps? After the June 7th party I'm thinking we should retire the tongue-in-cheek name that came from a forum conversation.

WHY THE BUMP BOMBS ARE NOW CALLED SIBLING RIVALRY BUMPS ANSWERED HERE: http://www.lovelymachine.com/Dolmere/2008/04/1st_sibling_rivalry_bump.html
