To Type or Not To Type
After reading a lot of Dolmere's posts on the typing animation, I got curious. Plus... that new Client menu taunts me. I don't know what all the stuff does, so I spent some time poking it with a stick. The one thing that *really* caught my eye is the "Debug Settings" (near the bottom). You can set values for particular things here - and they seem to persist for the next time you log in (but not if you switch computers, like any other preference). "PlayTypingAnim" is one of them. If you select it and choose false - no typing, no noise. Freaky, huh?

Whoa, nice tip--I never knew about that before. I should try it, hehe...

Being a client setting, does it disable only your typing anim/sound? And also, is it only disabled within your client, or to the entire world? I *must* know these things, and I'm too lazy to check. :D

I don't have the client menu everyone is talking about. How do you get it to show? I suspect this is the same thing as force stopping the animation though - have you tried this trick with a basic keyboard attached, Coal? Does the keyboard still show/hide correctly even when the hands do not move and the sound does not play?

Yes it turns off for everyone, as far as I can tell.
And ctrl-alt-shift-D will make the client menu show (you might be able to skip the shift). Don't know if the keyboard would still show, I suspect not.

It in fact breaks all keyboards since it suppresses the "type" anim from playing and that's the stupid resource abusing way typing over-rides need to work.
