Raindrops on Roses

Okay, so I'm trying to keep up with the not-a-meme. I feel like I'm running with the cool kids or something. ;) This week's challenge is courtesy of Mera Pixel, "What you like most about SL". I was going to say the people, but she says we're not allowed to. My first instinct was to plop up some shots of some of the great builds I've seen around SL, and claim my fave thing is peeping inside other people's imagination... but you know, that's cool, but it's not what keeps me coming back, even when I've had a crappy day at work and am desperate to get away from the computer.

It's live music. Who knew I was such a junky? ;) I'm essentially lazy, but if the live music comes to me (or my computer), I'm all for it.

I got a special treat today. I got to listen to Cylindrian Rutabaga and JueL playing live in a coffee place in Raleigh, then went to hear Mel Cheeky at a benefit concert. I'm told Jaycatt and Frogg are playing in a bit. I try to get to at least one of their shows every week, so with luck I'll be able to catch this one. It is so fantastic, in my not-so-humble opinion, that we've been able to start hosting live music on a regular basis again in Swinside. I'm not putting up any photos, since I've posted others earlier.

And on a completely different topic...

Valentine's Day is coming next week, have you got a gift for your loved one yet?

Two Newbie Locations

So Dolmere has decided we're doing a "not a meme" blog thingie where one of us posts a challenge twice a week and the rest of us blog about it. This week: Name Two Newbie Locations, or more politically-correct: "name two new resident locations". My two are below the crease.

The Free Dove

I forget how I stumbled onto the Free Dove, but it's a very good location for free designer stuff. Clothing, hair, skin, shapes, animation overriders, everything you need to deck out your alt... er, a new resident... in style. It takes ages to rez on my poor laptop, though.

Robin (Wood) Sojourner's Texture Tutorial

This place will give you so many smarts your brains will ooze out your ears. Seriously. :)

The texture tutorial is self-paced and really really well done. Even if you think you know everything about textures, I bet you learn something here. Robin's also the one behind the infamous t-shirt template.
